It is a beautiful day in southwest Montana with a high near 71 and winds at 3 mph cant get much better than that!! The Big Hole river is at a perfect 2240 cfs at maiden rock the fishing is outstanding. We are seeing small numbers of salmon flies and some fish are looking up for them, nymphing stones and small mayfly stuff or stripping a zonker under a bobber are your best options to catch trout there. The Beaver head on the other hand is at a good flow, coming out of the Dam at 629 cfs. We are seeing small numbers of pmd’s and few caddis, nymphs like a Barrs emerger or sow bug are catching most of our fish. Lastly, the Ruby River is coming out of the Dam at 388 cfs as of this Morning, water is a little off color but stripping dark streamers is your best bet along with some flashy nymphs. Don’t forget to stop in the shop before you head out in these parts!!
